چکیده
Biodiversity in ecosystems is threatened by plastic waste, a significant pollution problem. The research aims to use plastic, Pleorotus ostreatus mycelium, and sugarcane bagasse develop an eco-friendly biomaterial. preparation consisted of three phases: (1) Treatment the underlying layer, (2) inoculation fungus (three different concentrations: 15%, M1; 20%, M2; 25%, M3), (3) dehydration physical characterization results (density, water absorption, texture) showed that average density varies between 127.86 131.19 kg/m3; also, M1 sample had high percentage absorption (23.55%), while M2 obtained lower percentages (11.79%). In bending test, samples M3 higher structural resistance with stress values 0.682 0.68 MPa, respectively. Based on results, produced biomaterials may serve as alternative expanded polystyrene (EPS). Due their moldable characteristics, they can be used non-structural construction, packaging, various architectural applications. provided promising results; however, additional parameters must evaluated able commercialize them.

Iron bioaccumulation in mycelium of Pleurotus ostreatus
Pleurotus ostreatus is able to bioaccumulate several metals in its cell structures; however, there are no reports on its capacity to bioaccumulate iron. The objective of this study was to evaluate cultivation variables to increase iron bioaccumulation in P. ostreatus mycelium. A full factorial design and a central composite design were utilized to evaluate the effect of the following variables:...
متن کاملPotential of Pleurotus ostreatus Mycelium for Selenium Absorption
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of high selenium (Se) concentrations on morphophysiological and ultrastructural properties of Pleurotus ostreatus. Mycelium growth was good in media enriched with 5.0, 10.0, and 20.0 mg L(-1) of Se, concentration of 500.0 mg L(-1) strongly inhibited growth, and 1000.0 mg L(-1) was the minimum inhibitory concentration. Contrary to thin-walled, hya...
متن کاملBiodegradation of oxytetracycline by Pleurotus ostreatus mycelium: a mycoremediation technique.
Oxytetracycline (OTC) is administered in high doses to livestocks and enters the environmental compartments as a consequence of animal waste disposal. As a first step in setting up a useful mycoremediation technique, an OTC lab degradation test was performed in liquid medium using the ligninolytic fungus Pleurotus ostreatus. OTC disappearance in culture medium was clearly evident as early as th...
متن کاملStatistical Optimization of Laccase Production and Delignification of Sugarcane Bagasse by Pleurotus ostreatus in Solid-State Fermentation
Laccases are oxidative enzymes related to the degradation of phenolic compounds, including lignin units, with concomitant reduction of oxygen to water. Delignification is a necessary pretreatment step in the process of converting plant biomass into fermentable sugars. The objective of this work was to optimize the production of laccases and to evaluate the delignification of sugarcane bagasse b...
متن کاملSugarcane bagasse improves the activity of ligninolytic enzymes and decolourization of dyes by the white-rot fungus Pleurotus ostreatus
Stationary cultures of Pleurotus ostreatus, MTCC-1804 supplemented with bagasse powder or its ethanolic extract, showed a concentration-dependent enhancement in the laccase activity both in liquid and semi-solid (glass bead) cultures. Bagasse extract also imparted greater stability to the enzyme. Mn-peroxidase (MnP) activity was detected only in cultures supplemented with bagasse or its extract...
